Academic Program
CI Bilingual School offers an American-International education, which also integrates the National Curriculum of the Dominican Republic, from preschool to high school, incorporating different aspects of both cultures.
The curriculum is based on a personalized instruction designed to meet the individual needs and different learning styles of each child. Students learn the necessary skills in a rigorous, american-type academic program that embraces not only a set of core academic skills, but also an integration of principles, that allow them to make the commitment to function as responsible members of a civic community.
At CI Bilingual School, we promote a meaningful, differentiated and innovative learning focused on the student. We are aware that our students are unique individuals who have different needs, interests, skills and cultural experiences. So our teachers promote multicultural respect, differentiated instruction and important skills, such as: Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication.
CIBS offers a curriculum that has the AERO Common Core Plus standards as a basis for curriculum planning and teaching. The instruction at the Preschool level is entirely in English. The Spanish Program is introduced in 1st grade and French in Secondary as a third language.
The CI Bilingual School recognizes that teachers, parents, and community members must be participants in an environment united by the high values entrusted to education at home, in the College and in society. Thus, within this culture of integrated education, and to carry out the extensive and indisputable academic foundation of the established duties, the College endorses a firm and active participation of Parents and Community, so that students can become citizens full, judicious, and productive.
The CIBS curriculum includes the following
En Inglés: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, Technology, Music, Physical Education and Art.
En Español: Lengua Española, Matemáticas (hasta 6to grado), Ciencias Sociales y Cívica, Formación Integral Humana y Religiosa de República Dominicana.
CIBS offers the following education levels:
Preschool
● Nidito, for students from 1 to 2 years old
● Nido, for students from 2 to 3 years old
● Pre-Kinder, for students from 3 to 4 years old
● Kindergarten, for students from 4 to 5 years old
● Pre-First, for students from 5 to 6 years old
Elementary School
● First grade, for students from 6 to 7 years old.
● Second grade, for students from 7 to 8 years old.
● Third grade, for students from 8 to 9 years old.
● Fourth grade, for students from 9 to 10 years old.
● Fifth grade, for students from 10 to 11 years old.
● Sixth grade, for students from 11 to 12 years old.
High School
● Seventh grade, for students from 12 to 13 years old.
● Eighth grade, for students from 13 to 14 years old.
● Ninth grade, for students from 14 to 15 years old
● Tenth grade, for students from 15 to 16 years old
